There are instances where an agent can be useful. We want to ensure the wife has a job prior to moving on down and she is a Clinical research scientist. That will involve changing her registrations to meet NZ requirements. How many positions will be open to her and where becomes an unknown entity, hence we will be probably using an agency.

I agree.

If you are buying a business or likely to have health issues or a complex case then definitely go with the adviser.

We have used NewLifeNewZealand and the service is very personal and the advice tailored to your set of circumstances. They are New Zealand based which is a big plus and have a freephone line for you to call them. The email correspondence is very detailed and thorough which was not my experience when we started out with the Migration Bureau.

This site is very useful but people don't always respond especially to business enquiries so I would consider this site to complement your application process but seek out the specialist help if your case is likely to be of a more complex nature.

Best of luck

We didn't use one....just take your time with the form and NZIS will answer any questions you have. (or these lovely people will help you).

All totally painfree.

Thanks guys It's good to have both sides of the story lol.

I think the agent route will be best for us, considering my mum and I have health issues, don't want to make a mistake y'know!

Didnt use and agent and looking back at it all there wasn't any point where we felt we needed one.

If you read the application, search on here and take your time then there shouldn't be a problem.

When it comes to health I don't think you really make a mistake, INZ have set out a criteria that you need to fit. If you don't then... well.. thats maybe not worth thinking about.

Not really fair of you to say that mate - are you an NZIS Doctor? therefore, one cannot state that its not worth thionking about, after all, Stacey was only enquiring as to the best possible course of action. Each to their own, we all have different predicaments, and some things that suit us, don't suit others now do they??

I think he just meant not to dwell on the (possible) immigration consequences of medical issues...thats how I read it anyway...

true - and that's the trouble with the written word - one can't tell tone and humour :-)

That's the only thing I hate about the internet no matter how much punctuation you use, it's the tone of someones voice that lets you know how they mean something lol.

As far as helath issues are concerned, an advisor at New Zealand Shores let me know that my medication may be a bit of a concern, so that's the only reason we are thinking of using an agent.
