I'm home!
Having just spent nearly a fortnight in Aitutaki. That place is Paradise, OH had trouble getting me to come home.
Started dreaming of living the simple life, keeping some chucks, pigs & goats, growing fruit & veg, dying my own fabrics, enjoying the sun & the sea , perhaps open up a wee cafe. You've got the picture.
It was the best holiday we have ever had & the hotel spoiled us rotten on the day of our Silver Wedding Anniversary. We shall definitely return one day.
I'm slowly catching up with what's been happening on here.

I have heard good reports of Aitutaki. Look forward to taking the kids one day soon (maybe the wife if she lucky as well).
Glad you had a good time!

Welcome back Vital! Shame Auckland didn't win anything other than the rain when they were selling off the makings of tropical island paradises.

Re: I'm home!
It is indeed an island. It is one of the Cook Islands of which there are 15, the best known being Rarotonga. Raro is approx 3 1/2 hrs away by plane & Aitutaki another 45 mins away by plane. The Cooks are on the other side of the international dateline from NZ & are currently 22hrs behind us. Hence we set off on the 17th & arrived on the 16th. I love a bit of time travelling .
The Cook Islanders are very friendly people & it's a very laid-back way of life. I'm still on island time . This was our 3rd time to Raro but our 1st time to Atutaki. We are now sold on Atutaki.
