I'm here!
Currently in whangaparaoa just north of auckland. Was due in we'd night but plane was late into singapore so I missed my connection. Singapore Airlines were really good though and met me off the plane with a hotel and taxi voucher and new boarding pass. So ended up spending 12 hrs in Singapore.
The last few days have been spent finding my feet and sussing out areas to look for houses. Start my new job tomorrow so a little nervous on that front!
No news on hubbie visa yet so no date on him and our son coming over but hopefully it won't be too much longer!

Welcome. Apologies for the rain and wind. It's the end of a cyclone. It was lovely yesterday!

Welcome to sunny NZ
I spent a year at whangaparoa,3 years ago. lived in the house on the beach, the first one you get to at the right side end of the beach.
Was lovely when the tide came in and surrounded the garden, I used to fish off the lawn.
I'm sure bigstix can fill you in but shout out if you need any help.
Good luck with the new job

Love it out there. Have UK friends who live Whangaparaoa side of Gulf Harbour so visit often. If you need to know anything just hollar cos I can always ask. The family run a waterproofing and scaffolding business from there and are well integrated in to life there with their 3 kids.

Re: I'm here!
new job's going well, thanks for asking!
bank account has been a bit of a challenge but finally got that sorted today (cayman doesn't have postal deliveries so having proof of residential address is not easy), put an offer in on a house in browns bay yesterday, but so did a dozen other people so not holding my breath.
hoping to move in somewhere this weekend if at all possible.
and then I'm trying to fit in going to work too lol
and breathe.......
