Well you can tell a lot from people's names; I thought Talulah does the hula was quite nice though! No worse than Fifi Trixabelle.

Not quite sure how true but I heard there was a baby named Ponsonby Bus stop and some twins called Benson & Hedges.

Used to go to school with a girl called Luna Valentine, think her parents named her after the space landings etc - they were into the 'hippy' movement at the time - always wondered what happend to her.

How about 'La-a' = Ladasha!

You should read the Trademe community forums, they love weird and wonderful kids names on there

As a midwife I perfected my 'well that's an interesting name' response a long time ago for when people tell you the crazy things they plan to call their babies.

I actually quite like unusual names but there's a difference between unusual and just plain crazy!

How about 'Ann' and 'Lee' as a son and daughter of Mr and Mrs Key, no this isn't a joke, happened at a hospital I worked in, well the daughter had been called Ann, but the nurses did manage to persuade the parents not to call their son Lee. At least the daughter would have a different surname when she married, but the son would be saddled with it for life unless he paid to have it changed.

Anal
Imagine the humiliation that poor child would have got if they'd been allowed to get away with it

Some of the others are not too bad. At least 'Tallulah etc' can be shortened to Tallulah which is unusual but not unpleasant and is quite pretty IMO

Me too

I was once on a night shift & delivered an 'Oliver' (nothing wrong with that I hear you say & quite right to) but then a couple of hours later I delivered a 'Fagin'. I was waiting for the next one to be called 'The Artful Dodger', sadly it was something more mundane. I nearly had the full set.

Also had a lass whose boyfriend wanted to call his son 'Boy' or maybe they would have spelled it 'Buoy'.......who knows

I hope they cancel names if the surname doesn't fit with the main name

Just imagine if the Dover family call their son Ben, or the Biggin family call their daughter Iva?

Or the Bennett family call their son Gordon

Poor kids.
