Smile I, and several thousand others, ROCK!

This morning I did something I have never, ever done before.

And that was run 12kms without stopping, throwing up, or passing out

Now THAT is something that I would never have been able to do in the UK!

So a BIG well done and congratulations to all those who did the City To Surf run here in Christchurch today. A massive from me to all those who took part.

I managed to stagger 'round in 1 hr, 11 minutes and 30 seconds. Not too shabby for a fatty

I start rugby next week - another thing I haven't done in years.

New Zealand.... it's good here, innit?

WOW Wiz, well done you Freakoid!!!

I never heard of anyone getting sore or injured lying on a sofa sipping demurely from an alcoholic beverage - exercise can be very dangerous - but each to their own!!

Yes, You ROCK!!!!????

Blimey mate, thats excellent! I thought I was pretty out of shape as I get a bit puffed out pushing the 15kg 2 yr old up our steep driveway on her bike. But then I had over 2 hours attempting to surf and felt wonderful after! No aches or pains and my teacher said I had 'loads of stamina' which is VERY true

Cheers all! I tell you what though - my poor ickle leggies are KILLING me today

That'll serve me

However, it's been worth it to be called a 'Freakoid' by the ever lovely Am Loolah

Jude J - what was the surfing like? Sounds groovy baby, yeah! Really fancy having a crack at that, and there's a surf festival in Sumner this weekend, so might get by fat arse down there, squeeze into some rubber <phnarr > and act like a link of black pudding lying on a surf board. Give them sharks something to really get their teeth into Can I have your teacher... she (???!!!???) sounds lovely!

PS: Things to make you feel bad: You finish running 12kms, and are about ready to collapse. A 50yr old bloke in front of you crosses the line, turns around, and sets off again - to run the 12kms back into town. Fit bastard

Congratulations on doing the run! That's hard....

I went for 2 surfs yesterday, 4 hours in total, absolutely knackered now....but it was pretty good over at New Brighton yesterday morning.

Looks like there will be waves in Chch for the whole of this week, and into next weekend. If you want to have a go, PM me, and I'll take you in. Be warned - Mother Nature will humble you, but it's a great laugh. I'm not lovely however.......but can show you what to do and lend you some gear.

It was only a friendly leg pull - oops sorry - did that hurt?!

We arrived last year into Rotorua as they were running their marathon, caught on our DVD recording was a woman of large posterior sat on the grass verge I guess outside her house watching, on an exercise bike!!!!
