We paid £2000 18 months ago to ship our scruffy ginger dog here and that was the best price we found.

So that sounds like a decent price.

Hi there,
We've been quoted around £2500 for our two terriers, we're not going without them either!
That's in addition to 10 days of quarantine.

That sounds a very good price. The OP price of £8,000 does not sound excessive either.
Op do a thread search on Golden Arrow that will throw up a lot of threads for transporting dogs. They were fantastic.
We used them in June 2011 to bring our staffie cross, Bella. It cost £2,050 and she is worth every penny.

too bad a price.

Agreed sounds about right, we paid about 6 grand GBP to bring 3 dogs with us.

The bull terriers: are they pit bulls? there are some rules here about some breeds, but not sure what - Japanese Tozas are not allowed for example, or some french thingy plus American pit bulls and I forget what else. But it's a very short list.

The other cost you will incur is some quarantine. It used to be easier to bring dogs in from the UK but now you have to go through some quarantine even though the UK is rabies free. It's some days, but it will cost you, it would be a good idea to look into costs for it. Worse, there are only a few quarantine centres so if you want to visit your furry babies, you may not be living near them.....

and check carefully where you are planning to live, a lot of towns have a 2 dog limit in town and sometime even then that requires a permit... rural has different rules....
