I have finally arrived
 

I am here. All back together again. Been two weeks now. It's all a bit strange.

Any help With settling in. Best places to shop. Schools. Pre schools. Restaurants.

The packing was hell. I had to box everything up before the shipping company coming due to fast house sale.
We move into our new home on Wednesday. Been a long time coming.

Hi there. Welcome to NZ. Hopefully you'll get a decent run of the end-of-summer before our dreaded winter. You'll have been over to the Mount - nice isn't it, if a bit tourist heaven. There is a nice mexican restaurant on the main street, and a craft brewery.

Had to laugh when I saw those famous pommy words "Best places to shop. Schools". If you stay and settle in NZ, you'll grow out of it!! Shopping (as a leisure pursuit - like it is the no.1 in the UK) - doesn't really exist in NZ. Schools? pick the closest one to where you live. Again, angst over a 'good school' doesn't matter even 10% as much here, as in UK.

Thank you bearskin. Yes I love it there the mount. We spent two days there.
Cleaning the rental now. Not too impressed but it will do for now I suppose.
Schools will be looked into me to week.

I thought this thread was going to be one of those stories about becoming an actress "...then, like, my assistant offered me a bottle of Evian, like, which I immediately spat on her blouse and shouted at her because, like, it was above 4 degrees and he knows I like it at 3. We're in Bethlehem. Brookfield only 5 mins away and where we shop sometimes as it's our closest New World and we regularly drive through to get to Otumoetai and the Estuary which has a great walking/cycle path all the way round - 9km's.

Hi, I really wanted to be in Bethlehem but nothing in our price range. Love the little café there.

Looking at Welcome Bay. I say looking because we can't get any where with the estate agents out here.

Where did you emigrate from?
