I Am Here, Promise!

My wings are aching, my tiara's askew,
But I finally made it to the Zealand that's New.
I sprinkled the rooftops with dust from my wand,
As I landed safely from across the pond.
I kissed the hallowed turf and passport in hand,
Skipped through immigration in my new home land.
The sun was shining, there was no sign of rain
(Which was a relief as damp wings are a pain.)
So here we all are, we're finally here,
Can't wait to sit on my neighbour's "dick" with a beer.
To surf and swim and walk and smile
To have the time to stop a while.
To see new sights and meet new faces
To explore and enjoy these beautiful places.
(Plus, like dur, to drink the wine,
Be rude not to with all that effort and time.)
We'll raise a glass each night to this future Heaven sent
Whilst we settle down to work on the weird accent.

Available in hardback from all good therapists.

Re: I Am Here, Promise!

Here I am currently stuck on nights
Feeling quite tired cos I've got the shites.
Been here 3 months and it's really quite sound
No mention of Britain,no thinking of pounds.
My children are happy,my wife is content
but that is amazing-the money's all spent.
I've met some great people,some terrific ex-pats
not to mention the locals-although some are so fat!
I really miss home though, especially all my best mates,
I miss the familiarity-it's one of my hates.
My family are sad cos they can't see me now
but soon there's a webcam,once I know how!
If I had the choice of emigrating again,
I would not hesitate-just tell me when.
Now hang on a mo-I'm going the bog
To see if my shites are back to a log.

Well hello there,
great to hear from you, and in your own stylish way, very nice little ditty.
Have been thinking of you all, and hoping you are all well, how is your lovely house by the beach?
Have you seen Claire and Richard yet? I'm so pleased for you, I know you'll be loving it.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Marika and Co. x :)
