HSBC Bank in NZ?
 

Hi, my Wife is in NZ at the moment, checking the place out to see what its like to live there.

She is running out of money, any ideas how I can get some to her?

She banks with HSBC in the uk, but her card (debit) only allows her to pay at chip and pin machines, she can't withdraw cash from a hole in the wall.

Does anyone know if there are HSBC banks in NZ - where, are they called something different,

where abouts in NZ is she ? I,m wondering if u could transfer money direct into a members acc and do it that way ?

There is HSBC but it is exremely rare to see one and they are more of an investment / business bank
Could you use western union...or put some money on her credit card?

Perhaps either see if HSBC can temp alter that card to allow cash withdrawal or see if she can find a supermarket etc that allows cashback transactions

there are a number of hsbc branches around auckland. In cbd its at 1 queen st opposite the ferry terminal. There are also ones i think in takapuna, somerville, botany. Have look at their website www.hsbc.co.nz

HSBC use Westpac for day to day banking services. I doubt however she will be able to withdraw funds with just her chip and pin card as if cash transactions are stopped from an ATM they will be likely stopped over the coutner too. If she has a cheque book she might be able to write a foreign money cheque.
