how near to a fault line would you buy a house?

Just wondering???If it gonna go its gonna go, but is buying a property with land on the fault line a daft notion, even if it goes across land not the house? Will it affect the resale value? How far have you got to be from it before it does?

think most of NZ is covered in them, maybe apart from Auckland but then you have to have to contend with the volcanoes

I suppose if you are prepared to buy a house on a fault line then someone else is more likely to as well. If you can't get insurance or mortgage on a property then I would say not to buy.
