How long from brochures to moving?
How long has it taken you guys to get from "I might like to try living in New Zealand..." to moving into your home there? I'm looking at spending two more years in Canada first. Part of the second one doing the immigration part. Is that longer than average? Now that I've been there I'm serious. But that two years will put me in better security with employment, finance etc. It's a big decision, I feel it has to be done right.

Thought about it in June 04, applied September 04 (after putting the house up for sale), ITA issued in Jan 05, PR granted Apr 1st 05. Arrived Apr 26th 05.
That was at a time when processing was pretty slow, I think it's a bit faster now. I'd still allow 9 months though, assuming no big issues with medicals.
