How do I print out Skype/FB chat history?
 

Getting the docs for PR visa ready now & need to print out chat history with hubby - is there an easy way of doing it? I am not a TECHIE - already searched google but it's all Greek to me.

I just need to print out that one conversation thread going back 12 months.

SIMPLE advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

And is that acceptable for INZ? Doesn't look anything like the original.

Assuming you're on a desktop computer...make your conversation big on't your screen and hit the 'print screen' button. Then paste that into word and scale to fit.
A straight copy and paste wouldn't cut the mustard as you could just write/edit to suit whatever you wanted to say + dates to suit!

The file you need is in:

Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named as your Skype name. You should be able to find this main.db file in this folder. You may actually only see a file with the name “main” but you will see description “Data Base File” or "DB File" in the Type column.

However you cant decode it, you will need some freeware to do so (IE. SkypeLogView)
This program will look for the file and decode it then you can export it to an excel file.

Im still trying to figure out how to do it on an Ipad.

You can also just do screenshots on an ipad - take a photo of the screen - if you want a specific post from facebook (or even BE!) and some computers have a snazzy tool now hidden in the Accessories called the Snip Tool which enables you to effectively screenshot part of the screen.
