I love the kitchen but I see nothing whatsoever has changed with the laundry tubs in over 50 years. Can't understand why the heck the nasty things so blooming expensive?

agreed, but have to admit I would totally miss my big ugly laundry tub now if we were to move elsewhere!

Amazing! But it will be wrecked within a year as a rental. Shame it could not be preserved?

Not impressed at all! Sorry to be so abrupt but.....
We've got a mate who has a property on the New Plymouth side of Whanganui who puts this to shame.
Built by his grandparents in (I believe) the 30's, parents moved in, now he's in there!
The plumbing/kitchen et al in these pics look futuristic compared to what my breakfast was cooked in, and our feed was spot on!
Also got a fantastic "International" pick-up truck in one of the barns, a thing of beauty, and I'm not a petrolhead if it has more thsn two wheels.

Try and get some pictures then!

What has bowled me over with the BOP property is that the internal fixtures, fittings and furnishings look as if it was installed yesterday - and bearing in mind it is over 50 years old, it does not look at all outdated (well, maybe the record player does ).

Looks just like the inside of my Uncle's house in Glenfield he's been there a good 30 odd years ... the contents of the larder bares witness to that!!!!

It looks fantastic, I too would love to live there. I can't imagine having a brand new house and never living in it!!

The story sounds really sad. That poor guy survives the war and moves out here builds a dream house for his mum and sister and they never came, no wonder he could never live in it. Poor guy, not that we know the whole story, but it sounds quite tragic.
