Hourly rate for a Carpenter?

OH has been offered a job just outside Auckland, hourly rate is $22.50, reviewed after 3 weeks.

Any comments would be much appreciated?

In Nelson , this would be workable, depending on your rent /mortgage. My per sonal feeling is that it is a bit low for Auckland and you should haggle the rate up at least a dollar & a half.

Assuming he works a 40 hour week that will mean he will bring in after tax approximately NZ$700 a week. However, you mention a review after three weeks so hopefully it would mean a pay rise. A second income would be helpful, for sure...
