Default Hotel Grand Chancellor

Pic in the paper today from ChCh. The lean is real. I was going to use this hotel later this year for a 300 delegate conference, that thought does keep me awake at night sometimes

I think that picture is taken from St Asaph street/Manchester St which is where the slip and lean is most apparent. It looks perfectly normal when you look at it from the west!
It is quite surreal to look at and I must admit it does look worse when you see it for real compared with photos. It should be pretty much gone in about 10 months if they get a move on. Can't say I'll be sorry to see it go, it is quite spectacularly ugly If I had to express a preference for leaning towers I have to say that I much prefer the one in Italy...

They can´t just drop it, it leans towards/over the Chch central telephone exchange which is still working (and is supporting many lines to businesses and residences outside the cordon zone), although I wouldnt guarantee it still would be if they drop the hotel on it...

I met Fred and he was a full blown character. He dropped a chimney in Tyldesley where I live. Here's the last one he dropped.

I always enjoyed the series they made about him, kind of Country File meets Mythbusters

Years ago my son briefly went out with his daughter. "Full on" character goes part way to describe what my son heard.

Anyway, someone's highjacked this thread
