Anyone build their house themselves in NZ or had it built to their specifications? Any experiences/tips?

PM "Biddy". He did it. Very nice too. Look at his house building thread..loads of pics and stuff about his voyage....very interesting. He's coming to lunch on Sunday..what a small world!
