does anyone know of any resonable priced ones that we can look at renting or staying in when we first arrive. We are hoping to arrive sometime in the middle of August and there will be 2 adults and 3 rugrats.

Hi,

you may be better with a holiday let or a furnished rental if you can find one. This would be cheaper than B&Bs, especially for 5.
There is a great furnished one near us at $410/week, but only till December! Then $$$$$$$$.
Check Trade Me nearer the time.

You can browse TradeMe but you can't contact a member's listing by email unless you have a registered NZ address. Is there any contacts you can use here to access the info? I'm afraid I've overused mine and it won't let someone access it from the UK.

If you see something you like you can always PM me the details and I could contact them and try and liaise on your behalf ... I know it's hard to do from where you are.

Hi there. Not sure if you have found somewhere to stay yet, but if you havn't try www.eves.co.nz , You should search there holiday rentals and Also their normal rentals because sometimes there are some really good short term ones!! I reccommend staying in Papamoa r Mount Maunganui! (Although I live in Papamoa so my opinion is prehaps biased!) Make sure whereever u stay that it has some form of heatin-(gas heating, heat pump etc) As it is quite cold without it!

I registered in the UK with a randomly chosen address and it worked fine.You will need an NZ bank account though, as you have to pay $10.00 to register. Changed the address once I rented in NZ, then again when we bought.
