The Hobbit - A Potential own goal for NZ?
I a starting to feel a little uneasy about the emphasis put onto these series of films.
First was the whole fiasco of John Key bending over backwards to Warner's demands to secure the film being made here.
Then the fact they have stretched out a 300 page children's book, into a trilogy.
Now it turns out that even our tourism marketing efforts are now subject to approval from Warners Brothers.

All this is potentially adding up to a less than satisfactory end product, which would then have a negative knock on effect.
I hope it all works out, but I think as a country we not have allowed a commercial interest to railroad government policy.

The Grinch that stole Christmas was a much smaller book.
