Default higher education

we hope to move to NZ next year and our son will be 17 . how long will he have to be a perm resident before he qualifies for national fees as apposed to international fees at colleges and uni`s etc. Also, how long before he can get a student loan and does he need to get his uk qualifications recognised in NZ so he can choose a course and apply. Phew...... i think thats it Any help or advice would be great.

He will qualify for the local tertiary rate about two seconds after the PR visa is pasted in the passport.

Sorry, dunno 'bout that other loan stuff, but you may want to look at this site http://www.studylink.govt.nz/thinkin...oan/index.html to get an idea on what is the drill.

Good luck.
