we hope to move to NZ next year and our son will be 17 . how long will he have to be a perm resident before he qualifies for national fees as apposed to international fees at colleges and uni`s etc. Also, how long before he can get a student loan and does he need to get his uk qualifications recognised in NZ so he can choose a course and apply. Phew...... i think thats it Any help or advice would be great.:unsure:

I am also interested in this as our daughter will be 18yrs when we move to NZ and will have just finished her A Levels with a view to then go to University.

He will qualify for the local tertiary rate about two seconds after the PR visa is pasted in the passport. :)

Sorry, dunno 'bout that other loan stuff, but you may want to look at this site http://www.studylink.govt.nz/thinkin...oan/index.html to get an idea on what is the drill.
