Has anyone used this company? I am in the process of doing a transaction with them and the money has left my UK account but my husband has scared me by saying it's a scam and I've lost our life savings!

HIFX are a bona fide company.

We used them years ago to forex our own life savings to NZ.

Why is he worrying?

I just used NZforex (not HIFX) to transfer some cash gifts UK to NZ. There is a time lag whilst the funds hop about.

This morning I had a telephone call from HIFX to reassure me and then this evening my money arrived in my account.
Cannot recommend this company enough, incredible service and very understanding of my worries.

How much is it to transfer. A nz charge me 25 bux this end and halifax charge me 7 pound to recieve it

over a certain amount, 3K its free under 3K (sterling) its 7 pounds, I believe it does tell you the transfer cost before you agree the transfer. I have never paid for any transfer. all the fees are on the website

I have just transfered some money into my nz account and i have also not paid any transfer fees in the last 3 years.
Excellent service and would recommend hifx to anyone.

Hi all,

I am looking to buy NZD too. I previously used NZforex who were great but a tad expensive and a bank which was also very good.

I am currently looking at trasnferwise. They have come out the cheapest compared to NZforex, hifx and currencies direct. They are legit founded by Skype founders and part owned by paypal founder.

Anyway will let you know how it goes or if anyone has used them let me know too thanks!

I've also used xe . com (no I don't have shares in them!). No fees at all and pretty easy transfers up to GBP5000, but I found there security for higher amounts too honorous so used Moneycorp who were very good.

If you look around you should find an FX company that will charge nothing for transfers over 5k local currency.

Also if they have a good network of banks and can send the receiving funds locally you can also have zero fees on the receiving end.
