The Hibiscus coast - stanmore bay
Hi people
So we really like the idea of Stanmore Bay as a place to live however with 2 young boys we would like to know whether this is going to be a good choice for a young family. Does anyone live there or nearby? My wife and I want to live in a nice community, close to schools, shops and beach. My wife in particular doesn't want to be somewhere too isolated. Looking forward to your replies:D Cheers |

We live in Gulf Harbour which we love but it's not everyone's cup of tea & can feel too far out for some. But there are lots of great places to live on the Peninsula. I can't imagine living anywhere else. |

It is an excellent place. Just not as good as Arkles Bay

We live in Tindalls at the moment (rental) and are currently looking to buy in Manly, Stanmore or possibly, Arkles. My son has 2nd homes in Stanmore (skatepark and football club) and I have to fetch / carry him daily.......a house in Stanmore will cure me of my taxi driver role! As Vital has said, the peninsula is a great little self sufficient community all of it's own, with virtually all you would need, on your own doorstep. |

Re: The Hibiscus coast - stanmore bay
Stanmore Bay has some great facilities and the beach is good, however there are some streets to avoid especially if you have children. as a general guide line avoid the cheaper rent areas.

Re: The Hibiscus coast - stanmore bay
I've just moved to Arkles Bay from cambridge in the waikato, I'm loving it here
by the sea and the people i've met so far are all friendly and helpful. There is a Vdub specialist on the way from gordonton to cambridge, he has a dozen or so original beetles and campers like yours all in various states of repair in his yard. If your definately bringing it i'll get the phone number of his sign next time i'm passing. |

Re: The Hibiscus coast - stanmore bay
Stanmore Bay is awesome (!!) for the kids as it has a great beach, skatepark, football fields and playground for the kids. I have lived on the Coast for 3 and a half years now and can't fault it.
Just avoid some of the cheaper houses - they are cheap for a reason! I would ask on here for advice about streets/areas ;) |
