Hi! We're from Shirley too - came over at the end of June last year to Auckland. Seven months in but we're not too far in to remember everything you're probably going through right now! How far down the track are you?

Hey! What qualifications does your wife have? I got early years and learning support quals in England, managed to get a job in a local primary school here doing the same. We came over on husband's points - what do you do? Auckland is good - a busy place but we've found where we are to be close enough to access everything but feel far enough out of the major noise, traffic, buildings, etc. Plus right by the sea (though that isn't difficult over here!). Weather's variable though nowhere near as cold in winter as in England. Averaging about 25 degrees right now for summer. Don't know much about Wellington - not got there yet!

We should all rename this thread "hi from Shirley" !!
Wierd how you come to the other side of the world and keep bumping into people who know your old stomping ground.

Look at www.porsenz.com - it's all about in-home educating for pre-schoolers (I think!). Otherwise, there are loads of day care centres and kindergartens and they seem to advertise quite a bit. You could try www.seek.co.nz, www.search4jobs, or even www.trademe.co.nz (the NZ equivalent of ebay) which also has a job section. By the way, what part of Shirley are you in?
