Hi

I'm moving to Kapiti coast with 2 kids in Sep. My husband will follow later in Dec due to work commitments here in the UK. Would love to meet up with someone when we get over...

It would be great to meet up especially as I'll be by myself with the kids. My husband has to work in the UK until Christmas but my PR visa runs out in October (he and the kids have kiwi passports) so I've got to get to NZ before Oct hence coming separately.

We should exchange contracts on our house next week (but that's what the solicitor said last week!) still after 5 sales falling through and being on the market for 18 months what's another week.

We're not sure if we're going to end up in Raumati Beach or Paraparaumu, we need to look at schools when we get there.

Looking forward to getting to NZ soon. Once we exchange we can book flights etc.

I'll bet by the fifth time round you didn't need to get your hopes up. Still good luck everybody, the Kapiti coast is lovely in summer...I often head that way myself when we go to the beach .

Fingers crossed eh...I stayed in UK to sell the house...and came over 4 months later...

Raumati Beach and Paraparaumu both have good schools...my kids go to Raumati Beach School but we live in Pprm...think it might be zoned now though..lots of Brits here who have made the same move...happy to try and help/share info in anyway...

We finally exchanged yesterday so at last we can get ourselves organised with our stuff going the first week of Aug.

We're coming out around middle of Sep, I'm just trying to finalise flights.

We've got other friends who send their kids to Raumati Beach School so it's looking likely that that is where we'll end up although there seems more properties available in Paraparaumu.

Clarabel I'm sure I'll bombard you with questions nearer the time!

Thanks.

Well we are very pleased with the school in Param, but I do hear that Raumati School is very good
Today much to my WTF am I doing, gave an hour of my time to support the teachers with an hour of swimming lessons to 11 to 12 years olds
What a joy each one of the children gave me a thank you at the end of session, some even added they had fun, some begged me to come back next week, and do you know I am so looking forward to next week
Children are children here in NZ and whichever school you decide, your child will be happy
