Hi! Any ATC's out there? Dog owners?
Hi everyone
We are at the stage of considering a move to NZ, mainly down to the state of the UK, house prices are astronomical, espec in Surrey where we live, so as we are in the great position of renting at the moment thought we would consider all our options!
Other half is an Air Traffic Controller and we are currently waiting to hear back from airways as to whether he has any hope of getting in through a job offer. Are there any other ATC's over there that have taken this route?
We have 3 children and hope NZ could offer them more opportunities than are currently avail in the UK.
We are also dog mad and have 3 at the moment, has anyone else flown their dogs out with them and how did it go? Are there good walks?
We are particularly interested in Christchurch at the mo as this seems the most likely place for radar jobs for other half

We flew our 2 dogs out with Airpets who were brilliant and it was costly but brilliantly organised. They'll hold your hand through all the vets bloodtests and pooh samples too if you need it.
Couldn't tell you about walks in Christchurch - but NZ isn't as loopy about dogs as pets as we Brits are. Plus you pay an annual registration fee to the local council.

Plenty of dog owners here in St Albans (an inner suburb in Christchurch). As for walkies, no worries. This is New Zealand. Loads of places for you to walk your dogs.
Apparently it is quite costly to ship a dog here, but if the animals are important to you I'm sure you'll find a way to bear the cost. Do be aware that finding a decent rental that will accept dogs will be harder to find.

we also used airpets to bring our 2 dogs with us, tons of places for walking in chch
