OH and I landed last Thursday in Sunny Auckland.....now Monday and the rain is well and truly here - but we are loving it.

Currently staying with friends in Puhoi, north of Auckland and heading down to Tauranga on Friday to a holiday let for two weeks...hoping to secure work during this time and also find some short term furnished accommodation.

Any help greatly received on all fronts

Let us know if there are meet ups planned in BOP over the next few weeks; you can count us in...

Im Heavy Truck Driver and OH was an Administration Manager in the UK including facilities and health & safety.

Weather has obviously followed you from the UK!! Tauranga is great, weve been here 3 yrs now and love it! where you from?? A meet up must be coming soon....saying that, we went on the last one and couldnt find any of the 'brits' down the Strand!! they must have seen us coming!!

Hi there

I've just arrived at Mount Maunganui too (with family - partner and 2 children, 3 and 1). We are loving it here (until the rain started!!) but I'm keen to settle in now and start getting involved with some of the local playgroups etc and meeting some new people!

Any advice anyone could give to good playgroups to take the girls, good daycare and any exercise groups with creches would be most welcome! Would love to meet other families in the area who have also made the move - we've yet to find a rental house and are currently undecided re: locations - any advice?!

Welcome to NZ, I think we've chatted before about the trucking work, my OH is trucker working for Fluidex, we also know another couple of British lorry drivers, so if you need any help when you get here, give us a shout, I think another meet up in rain bar may be called for, life is hard you know , .
