Helpful hint for those new to BBQing in NZ.
Gas BBQs.
Preparation - Do ensure your gas bottle is full. Lee and I have spent the last couple hours trying to light 'air'. |

I think whats more embarrassing is that (Lee and I are troubleshooters by trade) we sat there adjusting the ignitors, making sure everything was clean.
We even released some 'gas' from the bottle and had a sniff. There was no smell, so we deduced from that, that LPG is odourless. I feel like a right 'nana |

Big karma for the laughs out loud.
While at uni doin a BBQ party my Danish friend decided to get the grill real hot by sucking some petrol out of his motorbike and pouring it on. I've never jumped so fast (stuntman stylie) |

I feel like a right 'nana My best mate Dan who lives in Welly did exactly that about 4 weeks ago. After finally realising that he had to fill the can himself he said to the guy behind the counter "you will never believe what I did" to which he responded " bet I can, your English" :D |

You mean to tell me you buy empty bottles!!!!. :o
i asked if the bottle was 'ready to be used' - and they said yes. I asked what I do when i need to refuel - they said 'take it to a garage'. Of course, forgetting you need to ask VERY specific questions in order to get the answer you want in this country...... So yes the bottles are empty, and you refuel at a petrol station. |
