Hello I know I read a thread a while ago about opening a UK bank account while living in NZ. We need to do this for both our daughters. Although we retained our UK bank account we closed theirs (building society accounts) over 8 years ago when we came to NZ.

Which bank/building society in UK allows you to open an account from offshore?

There are LOADS of them. Nationwide, Barclays, Bradford and Bingley...just google 'UK offfshore account providers'. Endless stuff. You cannot however open a UK High Street bank account once you have left the UK.

Hi,

We recently opened an account from here with HSBC. We downloaded the forms, filled them in and took them to our local branch. They checked everything and sent them off.
Cards etc arrived about 10 days later.
