Question Help - New Plymouth Rental????

Hiya, we're moving to New Plymouth in Jan '09, and are desperately trying to find a rental house in the Bell Block area. We're a family of six, and have a pet springer, so as well as finding a rental that will allow a well-trained pooch, we really need a four bed too.

Is there anyone out there who can give us a heads up to any properties coming up at all?? We need to rent for approx 3-6 months initially, and hope to buy after that.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated! Many thanks, Lou x

Hiya, many thanks for the trademe link. Unfortunately I've tried that one and they don't accept pets. I think thats going to be our problem, but I can't leave Ruby behind! Thanks again, Lou x

You'll find most will say that, but it's worth negotiating with them, let them know any damage will be put right.
We had a big problem finding a rental in Auckland that would accept dogs, but eventually found one. They seem to prefer cats in rentals here, which being an owner of 2 dogs & one cat, I find strange as cats do far more damage than dogs.

Hiya, many thanks for your advice. We've also got a cat, but he's going to my mother-in-law. I know what you mean, out of the two, Thomas is definitely more likely to leave his mark than Ruby. I shall contact the agents tonight and see what they say. I was hoping for a private rent as sometimes its easier to negotiate person-to-person rather than through an agent, who you never know has actually asked the owner or not! I've bookmarked all the agents I know, so will just keep an eye on trade me too. I'm sure something will turn up, only got 8 weeks before we go, so getting a bit anxious to secure something sooner rather than later! Sounds like you had a similar experience. Glad it all worked out in the end. Ta, Lou x
