Help with Cat boarding
Mr Selfish has changed his mind and won't have the cats until I get organised in Porirua.
I have 2 adult female cats, one with 3 kittens - they will be 6 weeks old by the time I am leaving Hamilton. I could wing it and leave the 2 that have homes - as I recall, they should be 6 - 8 weeks so if anyone can shed more light on that I would be grateful.
Can anyone recommend a boarding kennel? Or have room in their shed?

Karen, I would take them in a heartbeat if we were allowed pets in this house. You might not get them back though. Don't know of any catteries though, so glad poppets was able to assist.

If you were going to Porirua vis the bay of Islands I could have taken them for you till you were ready! we've 5 already - so a few more wouldnt have made a difference. very best of luck

I can recommend Cat Corner in Tawa (top of our street)
Might be a bit expensive though for so many cats!

Thank you everyone for your replies.
Having had a PM conversation with Zoe, she is going to keep the cats for me.
Zoe: I'm so touched by your generous offer, you go a long way to restoring my faith in human nature.
I've said it before and probably will again, you have all been fantastic, anyone who thinks that the forum only offers token friendship and 'cyber buddies' need only read my story - it's been a humbling experience to have had your support.
That's one thing less to worry about, and if anyone around Wellington, Porirua, Upper/Lower Hutt would like a cream and white female kitten in a month or so, let me know

Re: Help with Cat boarding
I stopped into the Vet's on the way back from school. They inform me that the kittens could indeed leave home, so that is a blessing, I really wasn't looking forward to having to move 5 cats. Not only that, they will take Silkie if I haven't found a home for her by then.
One thing less to worry about.

My colleague Caroline, who was going to have Willow (the ginger and white kitten), is now going to have Silkie (the cream and white one) as well. I am so relieved as it means I can leave with a slightly clearer consience. All still doing well but it will be heartbreaking to separate them when the time comes.

Poppy won't be, she will be well pleased when those little buggers are off her paws.
