Smile Hello Everyone need help

Hi,

I have came across this thread while searching for the information on immigration to new zealand.i have came across many web sites but i can say this is the best website and thanks all the members for their support and information.

As myself is concerned i am from aberdeen, uk a graduate with a double master degree in management and It. currently i am working as a .net software developer using C#.net and asp.net platforms.

Though i have heared lot of news for the job opportunites available in new zealand but i am not sure how good is the market.. and how much can i earn ?

If anybody can help and guide me and also if anyone know any agencies in UK who can help and guide me in the right direction.

thanks,
Imran

I am sure with your impressive qualifications, you should be able to find employment, certainly in Auckland or in Wellington. Although please remember that more people live in Birmingham, than the whole of New Zealand. So the job market may be limited if you have a specialised job role. So you might have to look outside your normal "square".

Money, expect to earn half of what you do in the UK, if not less. (But you live a lifestyle that people only dream of in the UK)

www.seek.co.nz
www.tradme.co.nz/jobs

Are good websites that should give you a overview of the IT job market.

As for immigration agents, they will charge you a lot of money for filling out a form you can easily do yourself.

Have you been to NZ before? What is your motivation for wanting to move here?

Hiya,

Thanks for your quick reply and websites you have provided. I had a look at the website and the jobs available but i notice that most of the employer or recruitment agencies quoting that you need be in new zealand to consider for this position. that sound a little bit wierd to me ?

Yeah i am totally aware of the population of newzealand and agree with you it is not big as birmingham but i am ready to take this step the reason and motivation behind this i feel the newzeland can give me a good life for the future , as here things are gettings worse with the rise in property market, immigration and health to name few...

As i thought i am still young having a qualification and experience this is the right time to move as it seems there is lot of opportunity. Though i havent visited a new zealand before i can just make an imagination

I have a few more question can you please tell me more

Do you know website where i can look out for rent/ buy a home or flat?

Can you tell me little bit more about you if you dont mind ..

Look forward to hear from you..

Thanks once again

Hi Imran,
if you look on "the really useful" thread you will find some info on buying / renting. It may be worthwhile sending a PM to dreamfish, her partner is in IT and they are out here at the moment job searching. He partner might be able to give you some advice re what jobs are available, salaries etc.
Good luck

Hi there,

Did you look at www.trademe.co.nz?

Try Google and search for whatever info you want on NZ (outside the help of this forum) as most companies in NZ have websites.

Trademe has it all mate, have a look.

Cheers

Hi Imran,
You will easily have enough points for an EOI with a degree.
We have only been here since November and my husband works in IT. We found jobs on seek and basically phoned the numbers and asked people the likelyhood of getting a job.
If you do a search, Robert Walters is an job agency dealing with IT people. My husband secured his job through them.
High Street IT is another that springs to mind, another agency.
My husband spoke with both these agencies a few times before we left England. He got his job through R. Walters within a week of being here. You definately have to prove you are going to stay. Most people won't believe your coming until you arrive.
You may find it easier with your job to get a job offer from the Uk but don't bank on it. Hope this helps.
