Hello all, new to Wellington!
 

Hey there!

I'm Stefanie, 32, and came to New Zealand on my own after a friend emigrated here 2 and a half years ago, continuously badgering me to come over.. So I packed everything up, left my flat, sold my furniture, got a one year temporary visa and here I am! Hopefully to stay..

My friend arranged a roomshare for me in Houghton Bay, and the view is wonderful, but the journey into town without a car isn't so much fun, neither has been being ill since the moment I arrived two weeks ago with all sorts of cough/cold/lung infection type problems. Is it normal to be this ill after turning upside down and spinning the wrong way round? And when can I look forward to being better?!..

I appear to be right bang in the middle of everyone's ages on here, without family, sometimes like a night out, sometimes like a night in. I'd love to meet up with anyone who is new themselves, or been there done that, and just interested in making new friends really.. (take the pressure off the ONE person I know here to keep me entertained), especially those who are into their live music, or anyone who wishes to help me learn the rules of rugby (league or union - I'm not fussed).

Nice to meet you all! I've enjoyed reading your threads - they helped when I was looking to move, although I didn't reply to any at the time.

Hi Stef and welcome to the forum, glad you have found it useful. There are lots of people from Welly who post on here so I'm sure you'll have no problem making some new friends. :thumbsup:

I arrived here in November last year, came out on my own - never been here and didn't know a soul. But I've loved every second and can't believe how lucky I am to live in this wonderful city.
The people here are so friendly and helpful, I have loads more friends than I did in the UK.
Wise move, girl!
