Well hello Nicola, welcome to the forum... daunting as it maybe this emigrating lark... there are plenty on here who have gone through it and are going through it, so don't be shy in asking questions! Do you know where you are looking to live in NZ? and what line of work is OH in?

Hi Simon,

thanks for the nice comment, OH is a car mechanic so we're going down the skilled migrant category, he's got 130 points. I work for the police over here as a fingerprint expert so for me to get a job in NZ we're looking at Hamilton, Auckland or Wellington. Its a very scary decision but we're heading over for a 2 week holiday in 2 weeks time, hiring a motorhome and doing a tour, so hopefully it won't scare him off, I am the driving force behind the man! :D

I worked for 12 yrs for the Met as a criminal analyst and systems administrator and the Mrs was HR Manager for donkeys years before we left last year... Wellington has the National Police HQ and they'll snap you up if you want work...
