Having a baby in NZ

I'm English and are moving to New Zealand and are planning on kids in the future. What nationality would he/she be?

depends what your status is when you're here… ie PR or WTR or whatever…

also what your status is as a brit, ie brit or brit by descent etc

Here's what you need to know: If you are temporary residents, a NZ-born child will not be a NZ citizen by birth.

Whether child gets parents nationality depends on a. what nationalties parents have and b. how they obtained their nationality (birth, descent, naturalisation, etc). Many possible permutations.

Now I'm reading "baby" in the thread title with "churpy" in your name underneath and think you're having a "burpy" ... but then I'm easily confused ...:o
