Hi all

We are looking to move to New Zealand.

The other night I found that both our occupations are on the shortage list.


But now I can't find them on the list when filling out an EOI

We are a Teacher and a Pharmacy Technician.

Can anyone help?

Also my qualification are GCSE's, A-Levels, BTEC and NVQ 3 will I be able to claim any extra points for these?

Just getting confused by it all.

Well maybe you are getting confused with the lists...on your EOI you just put in your job and it enters the details and corresponding list number with it...eg. when I completed it I just put in HR Advisor and it enter the job number for me...all I had to do was choose the sector I am working in, so just put in teacher and it should come up. On the long term skills list is secondary teacher and pharmacist.

The same with the qualification...you will have to get NZ registration and probably qualifications assessed as well...don't get too bogged down with it if you get something wrong they will soon take points off you...but there is a list of recognised universities and qualifications to look through.

Go through it fill it out save it and it will tell you how many points you have you can always go back and change it up until you submit it and pay. E.G if you put your qualifications in and it doesn't allocate points then the likelihood is they don't qualify for points but I recall it asking for the NZQA rating with mine so you may not get points allocated unless you can put in that rating.
