Yes I have used it often and find it ok with no virus problems. Hope that helps.

I download UK tv programmes using torrents, I've built up a decent library now. I stick everything on a hard drive that I plug into my TV.
Here's some of the series I've got, if anyone wants to copy em you'll be more than welcome.
Idiot Abroad 1&2
Him & Her
8 of of 10 cats
Frozen Planet
Angry Boys
Top Boy
Fresh Meat
Loads of Stand Up
Lie to Me series 3
Come Fly with Me
Celebrity Juice
plus loads of other stuff

This is the free anti virus we use which seems to be okay.
We use sidereel for streaming programmes now we can't download anything, with the new law

Can't afford to take a risk as we are applying for residency! Some people have had letters apparently

I thought that only applied to people who download programs whereas Expat Shield just makes the server believe you are in the UK and enables you to watch it not download it unless anyone knows different!

Try www.Bolt.org or www.Mechdownload.com forums. Much safer.

I am not sure 10.30 is an issue we find after 7.30pm a problem as the whole of Auckland seems online and the internet can not cope!

As above, I have tried using Expat Shield but after a while the iPlayer just reports that there is not enough bandwidth and gives up.

I use 'get iplayer automator' which is a program for apple which downloads iplayer and itv player programs with its own proxy so there is no need to pay for something like the expat services on google. It even puts the programs straight into iTunes which I access through apple tv on our main tv. The iplayer programs are OK quality but the ITV ones are excellent. Got some good programs of the festive period.
Google get iplayer automator to find it.

I've noticed that just recently the Beeb has started blocking iplayer desktop downloads through Expat shield. Iplayer online still works ok if you're streaming, but trying to set a 'series record' in the desktop version doesn't work any more.
