Hail

Well we have a Wain and a Scorching thread so why not Hail?

Don't know what it's like elsewhere but we have had on-off hailstorms since about 5pm today.
It's bloody noisy on the metal roof:frown:

From last weeks little weather adventure, our car has about 50 little dints. What's next?

We've had it over the last 2 days. Teachers at school even let the kids out in it , I'm like, no you come in when it starts doing that, kids just laughed at me. :frown:

Re: Hail

We stayed inside and marvelled at how quickly it fell and how noisy it was. Still got a smattering of frozen hail on our picnic table.

By the way can everyone see the off white 'hail' in my first post? I was trying to be clever and match the colour to the weather type:nod:

Re: Hail

We've not had any serious haily stuff for a while, but the few times we have it has been ferocious and it has settled in big drifts like snow.

Re: Hail

I was at the tyre shop just now and there was a completely munted bent alloy wheel on the floor. Apparently the driver span the car on Ngauranga Gorge in the hail the other day, hit a rock with that wheel then holed the other front tyre on the other side. Scary!
Car undamaged though, driver okay.
