Gulp!!!!

:p Well OH just rang after his interview with lady who's over from Auckland at mo. I honestly thought he'd ring to say it's a non-starter for whatever reason but she says there is already one large corporation already very interested in his CV and when she gets back from the UK, she's pushing his CV around other places there.

She's very optimistic that he'll easily get something, even bearing in mind the salary he'll need.

Whether it all goes tits-up or not is another matter, but hey-ho it's good to have a pipe dream for a while innit?!

This is great news! Really pleased for you. Do you know if your husband would be expected to go over for face to face interviews?
My OH had a chat with an agency in Wellie, and they suggested that in IT, not many e'ers would consider overseas applicants as want to conduct face to face interviews. According to them, phone interviews were not favoured and they suggested that it would not be overly easy to secure a job from the UK and best wait until we get there. Just wandered if this is the impression your husband got too?
Best wishes! Leighlou.;)

Hi Leighlou,
What does your OH do in IT and where are you heading? Only ask as my husband works in IT. We had to come here for him to secure a job.:D

Hi Leighlou, he was told that he would first have a telephone interview then if successful, the company would pay for him to fly out for an "formality" interview. He worked for this particular company in London for 28 years until 2 years ago, so they would hopefully be able to get info on him from the London office I would think.:)

Hi Spacecake (love the name by the way, LOL!),
OH is a Programme (project) Manager currently dealing with implementations of employee benefits schemes but will be looking for all types of Programme Manager jobs (well the ones that pay more will obviously be of more interest - ;) ) and we think at the moment that we would like to head for Wellington. However, still (at this stage) are keeping an open mind and will look at jobs in other areas.
What does your OH do and where did you end up?
Leighlou.:)
