guitar lessons in Welly/Lower Hutt

Having shipped my guitar and amp over, I am struggling to find guitar lessons, or at least ones that are aimed at groups. I did similar in UK and as well as being a good way to learn and practice, here I'd get to meet a few people too.

Any budding musos know of anywhere?

Hi, sorry can't help in your area but where I live a couple of the local colleges run evening classes, I'm assuming they are for group lessons. Maybe worth contacting your local schools/colleges. Good luck with your search.:)

oooo spot of luck - check out the college in Tawa. They are offering guitar lessons in an evening course. Might be worth checking out and perhaps they can suggest a one on one tutor?

Duhhhh Slice of Heaven.

Another suggestion: you whip out "ten guitars" by Englebert Humperdinck you will be a true kiwi. Ok, true kiwi circa 1960s...

I thought i would do a bit of a search on the song and this page came up:

Yeah, there is some artwork upstairs in Te Papa that states that old Engelbert is quite a fav amongst the Maori people, still makes me rather giggle for some reason :thumbsup:

My uncle went to school with englebert.
That same uncle used to throw loose change into the cap of the young UB40 when they used to busk down snow hill station in Brum.
He also used to 'socialise' with the Krays.
There be my indirect claims to fame!!!
