Hi,

Just wondering if it is possible to work on guardian visa? Is it possible to convert it to a work permit?

How does employers feel about this visa? When we visited NZ recently we realised that employers are not very keen to take on people on visit visa.

Work options were previously more flexible, though do to large scale abuse, the rules have been tightened to focus on its core aims.

Guardians visitor permit holders are prohibited from being granted a student permit or a work permit, though you can apply for a variation of conditions to allow part time work or study.

My understanding is that you need to leave NZ and apply for a work permit if you are on a Guardian visa/permit.
