The Great Road Race - Kiwis v The Romans
A few miles south of Dunedin on State Highway 1, a team of New Zealand road workers are very busy trying to lay a new overtaking lane. It is less than half a mile long. On and off it has taken 3 and a half years so far. I say so far because it is far from finished yet. In fact the whole road is currently covered in small rocks that are causing untold damage to the bodywork of every vehicle unfortunate enough to have to use this sorry excuse for a road.
The ancient Romans could have built the road quicker than these clowns and their road would probably not have cracked my windscreen 5 bloody times.

Don't you mention Romans to me . I'll have to get Getafix to brew up some magic potion. Now let me get back to my wild boar.

Yes sorry, I did have a bad day yesterday.
It just that in nearly 4 years I would have expected a modern nation to have finished a quarter mile stretch of road.
Oh well, on the bright side at least while you wait for the stop/go sign there is a really nice view through your cracked windscreen.
