Default Government Bonds for Customs clearance

We won't be there when our container arrives so we have been told that we will have to pay a fully refundable government bond to customs so our container can be delivered to its destination. Has anyone had to do this/got any advice/got any idea how much its likely to be as our shipping agent hasn't got any idea yet.

Default Re: Government Bonds for Customs clearance

Think it equates to the value of the duty & GST that would be payable.
