Google Street View
OMG my house is on it!
It's a great tool to look at if you want to find out exactly what NZ looks like. Scary big brother stuff though.
Install Google Earth and there's a street view layer you can add.
Also available through Google Maps - search for a place and you get a bubble with loads of options including street view. Seems faster on the maps website too. Though that could be my 5 year-old PC

We use Google Earth lots but did not know about the street view. Thanks Rob.

Oooh our front yard is on it! I was half expecting a picture of my dog pooing on the birm in front of the neighbours house so I am quite glad there is no proof of that.
I looked up my grandmothers house and realised that there isn't a pic - presumably because her house is on a 'zig zag' so there are no roads to it - just footpaths. I realised there could be a fair number of houses in Wellington like that. The closest picture near my grandmothers house is a picture of a tree and a long driveway to nowhere on a road about 3 streets over!

Carl was showing me our house last night on there too. It's cooool. I can show everyone in the UK now without it being birds eye

We can't see our house coz we are right up a shared driveway which aint a road.

We can see ours, which is soooo cool as it's still an empty paddock on GE but on street view- it's there. We made our mark

My house, garage and car are all on there...what a wonderful tool for choosing a suburb to live in (re local shops etc) before getting here.

Google maps , where you 'get directions', also do photos as you go along! Well cool. DD had great fun with it last night looking at the possible routes to schools.....ah well simple pleasures
