Goodbye Sommet Sports
Sommet Sports have pulled the plug, no more free sport for Kiwis anymore
Shame really as I enjoyed their AFL, Bundesliga and Championship coverage. It was a nice breath of fresh air watching the AFL final on Sommet instead of Sky. Hopefully TVNZ or someone other than sky will try and get some of the sports back, as unlikely as it sounds.

Re: Goodbye Sommet Sports
Can't say I watched it that often, but it was good see a few games of the Super Bees (Brentford) recently.
Nonetheless, a real shame that a channel with the mission Sommet was trying to deliver has failed.

Re: Goodbye Sommet Sports
It's a shame the funding never happened as they were into something, they announced a few months back it was the highest watched Sports channel in NZ. A similar sports channel could definitely work, Summet Sports was a bit low budget, the program guide was always wrong and the program's chopped in out out of different sports but as a model it was working. If it was done right it would work.
It was the only broadcast channel I watched and plenty more enjoyed the range of sports they showed.
