Default Good places to buy ...

Hello BE'rs

Soon to be arriving on Aotearoa! Will be needing to pick up a mattress and duvet and some pots and pans - any suggestions on where we can pick these up around Wellington or Palmy? Not looking for something amazing, just needs to do the job until our possessions arrive. Are there any decent "home" shops where we can pick up the essentials?

Speaking of which, how long do we have to import our belongings on our arrival? Is there a time limit? We were hoping to import them in about 6 months.

Cheers for any info.

Briscoes (if there is not a sale on wait a couple of days as there will be), The Warehouse. most areas have either one or both.

don't think there is a time limit on bringing your own items over

I concur that these are places that you can find household items that you don't need to last for very long.

Most retail stores in this country will have regular sales (so there is no need to pay full price for anything unless you need it in a hurry) but the frequency at which Briscoes holds them is legendary.

Many thanks MF and Clappy- will keep an eye on Briscoes and The Warehouse. Are we talking Argos / Ikea standard of quality?

I would also recommend KMart.I would say that all 3 retailers mentioned sell Ikea standard of quality (probably better quality on some items in Briscoes).
