Re: Good news
The New Zealand school year is broken up into four ten-week terms with two-week breaks between terms except after term four which breaks in mid-December for around six weeks. The end of term one finished this past Friday. Primary and secondary students are now on a two-week holiday.

Hi,thanks for the info on the school holidays...
Got another question...
When we fly over to NZ,the baggage allowance is not that great,do the airlines offer more of an allowance migrating,if they do which is the most generous

Re: Good news
If you fly via North America you will have a greater luggage allowance available, two bags at 23kg each per passenger. Going via Asia it's usually the standard 20kg per person. Some on these forums have said that Singapore Airlines will increase the baggage allowance if shown that a person is emigrating.

Re: Good news
Be careful on your baggage. When we emigrated here, we were told we could take 30kg each, checking in, were only allowed 23kg so had to go and buy a suit case, and pay to get it sent on a week later. Cost us more than the value in the case. :curse: The travel agent told us we could take 30kg but you cant.:curse:
