Default Good Areas in Tauranga

We are looking to move to NZ in August and having enjoyed a visit 2 years ago quite fancy the Tauranga BOP area but are unsure of the better areas to live. We aim to rent for 6/12 months and once happy with the location buy. Also, if we rent in one area and then buy in another will our children F13 and F8 have to move to a school within the new house catchment area or remain in the one that they initially started?

Thanks

Dave

Hi Dave,

I used the "Search this Forum" tool and loads of previous threads on the area come up - here are some of the most recent ones.

Tauranga covers a pretty large area with many different suburbs. Did you want beach, hustle & bustle, views, semi-rural, rural? Best to have a look under City Guides in the NZ Wiki section and try some of the useful links there too. http://britishexpats.com/wiki/Tauranga_City_Guide

Thanks for the links Am Loolah they have some useful information. Can you answer the question about schooling. If we move house a later date does that mean my girls will need to move to a school witin the new house catchment area?

Hi Dave,

No, they should be able to remain at the school they were enrolled in initially - irrespective of any future move.

For school info and zones try
