Go South.
Just watching Go South. The sheep look interesting, "Are we there yet " comes to mind, maybe it will be better when we get to the South Island.

That would have helped, at one point they turned off left onto a narrower road with no indication of where it was or where they were going.

Erm, maybe at this point I should mention this particular ex bristolian is female, I'm sure your wife would have had good reasons.
