Default Glenfield, Forrest Hill & Castor Bay?

Just looking for some where to live at mo, any comments on above places would be much appreciated.

I live on the north shore and I would say in order of preference, definitely
1. Castor Bay
2. Forrest Hill
3. Glenfield

Thanks, we dont know enough about any of these areas. We are renting in Albany at the mo. We like the North Shore, but really only know Browns Bay

Would agree with that order. However, Castor Bay is very expensive having many large houses near the sea and coast. The other two are more reasonably priced. Takapuna and Milford are very pleasant suburbs and if you go inland a bit prices are cheaper. As you go up the coast towards Browns Bay it gets cheaper, although there are pockets of very expensive houses as well. Tor Bay and Rothesay Bay are really pleasant and Long Bay is the last along the coast.

Forgot to say that you should take a drive beginning in Takapuna and try and follow the coast road up to Long Bay, sticking as near as possibly to the small road to the right of the main road and that will give you a good idea of what all those bays are like, and also a very pleasant drive too.

Hi - I live in Glenfield (Bayview actually dawling since we got our new postcodes ). We're 5 minutes from the beach in Beach Haven, we have a boat ramp at the end of our road and sea views from our TV room, we have an 814m² section, 3 beds & study, two living areas, separate laundry and a huge deck .... and it cost us $407k in 2005 - which means it's probably worth about that now! Off peak it's 15 minutes to the City, I go to work by bus and get there within half an hour and I really think it's very under-rated for what you can get there - house wise. If you need schools, parts of Glenfield are in Westlake zone and Glenfield College is a decile 8 or 9. Manuka Primary is supposed to be excellent too. So, there you go - Glenfield
