GBP on the rise
Things are looking good for those coming over soon who are able to change some money.
A 10c rise in 10 days. Didnt think we'd see $2.00+ again for a long time.
It looks like Boris's deal will get the boot on Saturday which could trigger a fall....who knows ??

I think we may move some GBP over. It isn't much . It is really emergency fund money from when both our parents were still with us and the like.
It might now be better here and perhaps earning in a credit union or summat.

I moved money last week. Used a company called XE Money Transfer, previously called HiFX. Very good and fast. Transferred money was in NZ account within four days.

Is this the NZD weakening?
UKP doesn't seem strong against USD and Euro.

That's almost certainly due to the current failure of Johnson to get Brexit done, it may/will change in a few months.

I supect that unless he DOES get the deal through Parliament it may well fall again until something is sorted out, either he removes the 'No Deal' off the table or a General Election is called. Even then it will continue to be volatile until there is a government with a majority.

Re: GBP on the rise
If you look at USD vs NZD over the last 2 years you can see that the NZD has been very slowly falling.
I assume due to a less positive economic outlook and talk about reducing interest rates (which tends to depress the currency).
So I think that the UKP gaining a little may not be the main factor.
Looking at USD UKP over last 2 years the UKP has also been falling against the USD with a recent uptick.

I need to move funds from NZ to the UK to help family. Not a small amount. Should I be doing this pre-UK-election?
